We are a not for profit community group run by volunteers, whose purpose is to promote live mu- sic across Wakefield. We do this by planning, organising and delivering music nights, events and festivals. We also offer volunteering opportunities, student placements, and work in partnership with other organisations, e.g. Wakefield Schools Music Hub. The Collective started in 1991 to pro- mote live music and put on their first live music event in Clarence Park. Over the years the Collec- tive have put on numerous Clarence Park Festivals, Battle of the Bands competitions, held fundraising events, also ran a successful funded project ‘Music Track’. Members of the Collective have come and gone over the years but our love of live music and the ethos of staging live music for free for all the community (where possible) hasn’t changed.

We plan, organise and stage Clarence Park Festival – an annual free weekend music festival (which is the longest running free festival in Yorkshire) with 2 stages, 20 bands, DJ's, food and beer concessions, craft stalls, and children’s activities This event attracts up to 5000 over the week- end (weather permitting) .

We annually organise and stage several Brass Concerts, a Young Band Showcase and Summer Sol- stice event and Teddy Bear’s picnic with live music.
